In our latest blog, Commercial Photographers Network member Ewen Weatherspoon, who is based in Inverness looks at a shoot from before Covid.
With sites all over the UK from Cornwall and Devon to the Highlands of Scotland, the Camping and Caravanning Club is a good example of what the Commercial Photographers Network is able to offer clients. With photographers located strategically throughout the UK, it means we always have an experienced photographer who is close to the location of the shoot, saving on travel and accommodation costs.
One difficulty that clients are often faced with is the need for good weather conditions. This can be especially challenging when doing a winter shoot in the Scottish Highlands. Most people would think this would be easy to achieve in Scotland but in the last few years winter conditions throughout the UK have been increasingly difficult to predict.
The Caravan and Camping Club wanted photography to highlight the fact that many of the sites are still open in the winter which is becoming an increasingly popular time of year. As soon as the booking came in, Ewen, who is based in Inverness and close to the campsite kept an eye on the weather looking for a suitable window. The weather can change very quickly in the Highlands, so as soon as he saw a suitable break in the weather he was able to be on site to take advantage of it.
The weather affects most types of outdoor photography from architecture and exteriors to lifestyle and even product photography. If you require outdoor photography for your business we have a photographer close at hand who can help.
