Ed has worked with all types of clients, for over three decades and consistently produces quality images which are used in all types of media.

Coming from a press photography background, Ed has the experience to work in all environments and locations.

He has worked for many FTSE 250 companies, the UK Government, the NHS and many smaller SME’s. He also regularly shoots editorial assignments for magazines.

Ed’s interest in photography sparked during his time studying for a business degree at Aston University. After having his first published photo in the Aston student newspaper, Ed knew that photography was his true passion. He decided to pursue it further and spent two years studying photography at a college in Cheshire. During this time, he was nominated as the representative for the course and won a SKY/Ilford award in 1993.

In his final year at college, Ed started to receive regular freelance work, and shortly after graduation, he landed his first staff job for the Guardian and Messenger newspapers in Cheshire. He also held his first exhibition in Manchester during this time.

In 1996, Ed moved to Cheltenham to work for the Gloucestershire Echo as a senior photographer and part-time picture editor. He won several awards during his time there, including one for a picture story about soldiers distributing aid to refugees in Kosovo.

In 1998, Ed joined the Birmingham Post as a full-time digital photographer. He covered a variety of events and assignments, including Tony Blair, The Queen, and Monica Lewinsky, as well as the war in Kosovo. His work was frequently syndicated and used on the front pages of national newspapers.

After nine years as a press photographer, Ed decided to set up his own freelance photography business in 2003. Since then, he has worked with clients of all sizes, including newspapers, magazines, and corporations. Some notable highlights include photographing Ozzy Osbourne when he received his Walk of Stars award and documenting the construction of the new QE hospital in Birmingham for the NHS.
