In this blog, Simon discusses his photoshoot with global real estate giant, CBRE and how he gets the best out of every subject.
CBRE’s London Office is a stunning building in the heart of the city, just north of the illustrious Mayfair district. Twice a year I visit the offices and spend a day capturing a series of corporate headshot photographs.
CBRE is an industry leader, so the headshots that represent their employees must be industry leading too, which puts some pressure on the photographer! The emphasis is on quality, so that staff will proudly use their professional head shots both internally and externally. So how did I make this happen?

The special ingredient is… posing! People have no idea how to pose in front of a camera (and why should they), so it’s my job to teach them. I spend time showing people how to look their best, which poses work, which don’t, and share tips and tricks for the diverse range of face shapes and skin complexions that stand in front of my camera.
After about 20 photos we review the headshots. It’s really useful to get feedback from the subject so I can get them to look their best. It’s also an opportunity for them to see all the tips and tricks in action. After a final round of additional photos, the subject can choose their own headshot.
