Commercial Photographers Network members for the North East, Critical Tortoise, were recently contacted by the boss of a very popular artisan Italian restaurant, not in Italy, but in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The client needed some quality commercial photography of his bespoke wood-fired pizza oven in use. This is a major attraction to his customers as it can produce delicious hand-made pizzas at a rate of around 300 in an evening.
He also required architectural photography of various interiors of the restaurant and finally a portrait of himself for use on his website.

Detail photographs like this help capture the mood of a location.
Photographers Andy and Tony set about shooting the various areas, making best use of the beautiful, warm, natural light coming through the main restaurant windows – and then using portable studio flash light to supplement other areas which were too dark.
Shooting the pizza oven in use meant balancing the light of the flames in the oven, and the natural light of the restaurant with flash to highlight the chef. It also meant making several pizzas, none of which went to waste!

The team is set to return to Adriano’s later in the year to photograph more areas, including the exteriors. If you are looking to have your restaurant photographed anywhere in the country, or indeed Italy, the Commercial Photographers Network can help. We guarantee consistently fantastic photography from all of our photographers, wherever you are. Until then, ciao bella!
