Working alongside the UK’s leading supplier of uniforms to the Hospitality Healthcare and Catering Industries, Birmingham CPN member Graham Oakes was asked to shoot 2 different case studies for Alexandra Workwear.

When shooting fabric, it might seem obvious, but making sure the focus is directly on the clothing is paramount to show the texture and contrast. Perfect control of soft directional lights were used by Graham, to achieve the detail on the dark clothing.

Graham uses a combination of direct and side lights to ensure the shadows and colours are accurate to the original cloth.

A useful little scene setting photography, which doesn’t feature any of the products, but can be very handy when composing adverts or website pages as incidental shots. It is this attention to detail that makes the difference, not just taking the shots the client has outlined.

Customer Service – Lifestyle Images from our recent workwear shoot in Birmingham.

When it comes to service, one thing Alexandra Workwear and the CPN have in common is pride in providing first class customer service.

Uniforms of staff are an indicator of the detail that goes into the quality of service a company can provide. It is important to show that staff are presented well in a customer-facing environment with high quality workwear clothing photography, which Graham achieves with these friendly and approachable uniform lifestyle images.

For all of these shots, it is crucial to keep the texture and creasing consistent across all the shoots – requiring multiple adjustment of lighting angles in two separate environments.
